This new MMF Guide show new members how to make a niche website and what's involved.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Table of Content

Step 1: Keyword Research
Step 2: Domain Registration
Step 3: Web Hosting
Step 4: Install WordPress
Step 5: MMF WordPress Theme
Step 6: WordPress Settings and Plugins
Step 7: Content and Articles
Step 8: Backlinking
Step 9: Cost

Keyword Research

First I'm going to do some keyword research, I will be using Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai for this purpose.
You can also use Market Samurai if you prefer (more powerful, harder to use).

The video below teach the basics how to use Micro Niche Finder.
You need to use Micro Niche Finder or something similar, otherwise you will have a hard time finding the good keywords.

.

I used 5 minutes to find a keyword.
I will be using "Front Doors With Glass"

The keyword is a bit weird, but lets see how it goes.

This video explains how to check the top results in Google, matching your keyword.
I used a program called Market Samurai in this video to check the competition.

11.100 exact matches in google:
http://www.google.co...ors with glass"

1.000 exact searches per month, according to Google Keyword Tool.

Top 5 results in Google:
1: http://www.bargaindo...sp?Cat=7&Sube=0
PR: 0, 0 backlinks

2: http://www.bargaindo...at=11⊆=18
PR: 0, 0 backlinks

3: http://www.novatechg...with-glass.html
PR: 0, 10 backlinks

4: http://www.novatechg...rior-doors.html
PR: 0, 11 backlinks

5: http://www.antiekbou..._with_glass.php
PR: 0, 2 backlinks

Information:
  • The top 3 have the keyword in the title, the rest does not.
  • Only 1 of them have the exact keyword in the url, 1 have a part of the keyword and the last 3 does not have the keyword in the url.
As you can see above, the top 5 seems pretty easy to beat.

I think we need no more than 5 backlinks to be #1 for the selected keyword, we got low competition and have the exact keyword as the domain name.

Domain Registration

I registered the domain www.frontdoorswithglass.com
Registrar: www.godaddy.com

The domain match the exact keyword, which is perfect - I even got the .com version !
My lucky day :)

Web Hosting

I suggest you get a reseller account, if your going to make more than 1 website (which you should).
We highly recommend the following web hosting companies, they have a good reputation and has been around for ever.

Ask at our forums if you have any questions about web hosting.

Install WordPress
This video explains how to install WordPress using cPanel and Fantastico.
The Web Hosting companies above all support cPanel and Fantastico.

MMF WordPress Theme

We have created a special theme for WordPress, used for micro niche blogs.
You can except a CTR (clicks per visitor) of at least 20% using this theme.

Please visit our MMF Theme page for more information (it's free to use).

WordPress Settings and Plugins

This video explains how to do some basic settings to your new Wordpress blog:

The next video explains how to install the plugins you need.
We will be using the following plugins:

You can watch it here:

Content and Articles

Ideally, each page you write should be based on a separate keyword.

Try to make 3-400 words articles, reviews if possible.
You want to include your keyword 3-4 times in each article.

An article for the keyword "Black Media Center" can be an article about media centers in general, you can even write for a couple of specific products listed on amazon.com and include affiliate links along with your AdSense ads - just make sure you write for your keyword and not the product name!

Example of articles:
Front Doors With Glass

You need some extra articles which you need to submit to article directories.
I normally write 5 articles about my niche (they does not contain my keyword) and then make 1 rewrite of each article.

The 5 main article I submit to ezinearticles, the 5 rewrites is being sent to other article directories.
Ezinearticles is the biggest one, so I only submit unique quality articles to them.

You can write the articles yourself or pay someone to write the articles for you.
I do a bit of both myself.

Backlinking

A backlink is a link point from one website to another.
If your site got 10 backlinks, then it means 10 websites are linking to your website.

The more backlinks you have, the higher your website will rank in Google.
Here is a few facts (but remember: 1 random backlink is better than no backlink!):

  • A backlink has more value if it's in the same niche/category as your website.
  • A popular website (PageRank) has more value than other websites.
  • A backlink need to contain your keyword (anchor text), since Google then think your website/page is related to that keyword.
  • Each page you write for your website need to have backlinks pointing to that specific page. The anchor text of the backlinks need to match the keyword for each page (ex. "Black Glass Doors").

What is anchor text?
It's just a fancy word for "link text".

It's very easy to make a link, see the two examples below.
They both point to "www.frontdoorswithglass.com" and have "Front Doors With Glass" as anchor text.

For websites and blogs (HTML version):
<a href="http://www.frontdoorswithglass.com">Front Doors With Glass</a>

For forum posts:
Front Doors With Glass
This is how it looks live: Front Doors With Glass

How do I get backlinks?
You need to post on related websites and forums, or pay someone to do it for you.
I post on both "follow" and "nofollow" blogs and websites, it looks more natural.

  • Use Google Alert to receive a daily list of updated (related) blogs: http://www.google.com/alerts

    Settings:
    Search terms: "type your keyword"
    Type: Blogs
    How often: Once a day

  • Register at related forums and type your website in the profile.
  • Register at related forums, put your backlink in your signature and make some posts (provide value).
  • Write articles and submit them to Ezinearticles.com, put your backlink(s) in the Resource box. Re-write the article and submit them to other article directories, here is a few suggestions:

    • hubpages.com
    • squidoo.com
    • articlesbase.com
    • goarticles.com
    • buzzle.com
    • articlecity.com
  • Create a free blog at both Blogger.com and Wordpress.com and post 1 article on both. You can write a new one and rewrite existing ones.
  • If you got money to spend, then order a small backlink package, they normally cost $20-30.

Cost

The cost depends on your needs, if you have a way to find keywords without using the two programs (Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai), then you will be saving quite a bit.
I suggest you use Reseller/VPS hosting, which can hold like 20 websites, so you have room for growth.

  • Domain: $10 ($0.85/mo)
  • Reseller/VPS Web Hosting: $20 ($20/mo) (you can share it with a friend or something)
  • Market Samurai (optional): $149
  • Micro Niche Finder (optional): $100

It's against the rules to use "(MMF Guide)" in topic titles.
Only topics created by Moderators must have the "(MMF Guide)" tag in the title.

I think you should make an e-book with all of your guides. It should fly off the shelves lol. Glad we get the free version though. :)

Very nice tutorial. Although it would be nice to have a guide for someone who doesn't have the 200+$ it takes for the bottom two tools.

I will try to make a guide explaining how to find keywords using free tools, if not someone else is up for it ;)
