Hi there,
what do you think about metatags and keywords? Are they any good?I've got a little site where I post articles about financial producst and money saving. I tried filling in keywords for every single article but that doesnt seem to influence the search results. Also I heard that you shouldnt have too many keywords for your main page but then sites like Ebay have plenty...so what is the best strategy? Any advice really appreciated!

Metatags HAVE to influence the SERPS. How else would Google for example know what you list your website subject as? But, yes, not too many keywords, just ensure that it looks natural, and the content relates to the meta.

You must first find the good Keyword that fits to your website. Which has low competitors, if you already found a good keyword that's the time you will also use it as your meta tags.  You know the meaning of SERPS? - Search Engine Results Pages. You can see it in your Google analytics.
