TripAdvisor.com Reviews

Have any of our forum members every used TripAdvisor for reviews when traveling? Tripadvisor is now the large website in the world when looking for travel reviews, for hotels, trips and flight comparison information.

Tripadvisor has also been highlighted in the media recently, over their stance on the negative reviews they receive on their website, potentially putting many hoteliers out of business.

What are your thoughts and reviews, do you think Tripadvisor should have so much power; have you used them?

Your tripadvisor reviews would be much appreciated.

I must admit, that I always use tripadvisor, and although I know that some of the reviews on the website may not be strictly legit, overall you can gauge how well the review is overall, especially where there are many people leaving reviews, say for a particular hotel.

You will always get a few bad apples, or maybe even a competitor willing to try and damage another's reputation, but overall, I still think the site is very useful.

I use mytripadvisor whenever I am trying to reserve a hotel ( specially a new one ) online. I also do check it on other sites like orbitz and expedia. Usually many reviews on these sites help me make my mind if the hotel is clean or safe.
