I received an email from a company yesterday asking for a payment for filling stuffing envelopes for money, cash from home.

It looked genuine, and as I could do with the money I am interested in starting it.

Has anyone on here ever done it, and does it work?

Hi Carly,

Envelope filling IS a scam. A scam that has been around for a long time, so please do not send any money to any company offering it.

The way it works is, the company will ask you to start placing adverts in shop windows advertising for other agents to make money filling envelopes, and when you receive the replies, you have to send these replies back to the original company, who in turn send out more sales letters.

It is like pyramid marketing, and in the UK at least it is illegal.

100% a scam, and best to avoid it.

Hope you have not send the company any money yet!!

Yes it is definitely a scam. see it all the time, don't send them any money as you will see nothing back. Had a friend that tried something similar, and she sent the money of and never ehard from the company again.

Thanks, luckily I had a strange feeling something was not quite right, and did not send them any more.

Why do so many companies try to scam, especially people who look at these type of offers can definitely not afford to lose that kind of money.

Scammers don't care if you need money.  They are around because there are a myriad suckers out there that will pay them for nothing.

Always remember -- if it were all that easy to make money online, everyone would be doing it.  If it were easy to get rich online, everyone online would be.   It takes as much work and dedication to make money online as it does offline.  There are benefits, such as flexible time, gas savings, etc -- but it's not an easy life no matter who has told you what.

If you are being offered unusually large sums of money for anything, especially if they are tooting it as "no or few skills necessary"  -- just click off.  All you will do is destroy your dreams while you go broke.

Have you tried maybe getting a blog and some affiliate products to sell?  That's honest work that YOU have the control of instead of someone else. You can start for absolute zero $$ if you absolutely need to although it's always best if you can get your own domain and hosting - which also can be purchased with very low funds.
